From: Sandy Ross Date: Fri, Jan 4, 2019 at 4:14 PM Subject: BCH 581 Greetings All, This email is a headsup that the physical biochemistry class BCH 581starts next week, Thursday, January 10, 2019. We will meet at 10:45 am in ISB 103B for the introduction to the course. This year BCH 581 is a collaboration between UM and the University of Lethbridge. It will be a combination of on-line and in-class lectures that will include student presentations of relevant literature assigned by the instructors. The theme of this course is solution biophysics (i.e., thermodynamics, interactions, and hydrodynamics). The physical methods discussed will include analytical ultra-centrifugation (Dr. Demeler), fluorescence (Dr. Ross), molecular dynamics (MD) (Dr. Savelyev), and small angle scattering (SAS) (Dr. Brookes). I have attached a tentative schedule for the semester. Please let me know if you have questions. My office is in ISB 219. Otherwise, see you next Thursday. Cheers & Happy New Year -Sandy Ross -- J.B.
